You’re invited to the Foundation for Appraisal Education’s Seminar this August

The Foundation for Appraisal Education (FAE) would like to invite you to attend its August Seminar at Michaan’s Auctions, which will include nine presentations over the course of two days in the San Francisco Bay area.

We’ve put together a diverse group of presenters and topics that provides both ARC and fine art appraisers with learning opportunities and professional development credits.

We’ll start off the seminar with a reception at St. George’s Spirits on August 27 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

Our presenters for Thursday, August 28:
  • Allen Michaan of Michaan’s Auctions will speak on Tiffany Studios and his famous works.
  • Susan Lahey, ISA AM, MA, of Eastern Art Consultants, Inc. will present on Contemporary Chinese Art.
  • Brian Witherell, Witherell’s Auction House, will speak about The Gold Rush.
  • Peter Fairbanks, AAA, Montgomery Gallery, will present on California Art.
  • Steve Cabella, of Modern I, will present on Mid-century Modern.

  • Panel Discussion on Problems of Art Authentication: What’s An Expert to Do?
    • Hilarie Faberman, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, Stanford Museum
    • Ben Marks, Art News Writer, CollectorsWeekly.com

  • Harry Huang, Asian Arts Expert, Michaan’s Auctions, will present on Certified Organic Snuff Bottles.
  • Laura Woolley, AAA, The Collector’s Lab, will speak about The Value of Celebrity.
  • Rick McDaniels, McBeath Lumber, will lead a workshop in Wood Identification.
